Set in the lively Butte-aux-Cailles neighbourhood of Paris’s 13th arrondissement, this 65 m² ground-floor apartment was redesigned to reflect the area’s creative, eclectic spirit. Inspired by cobbled streets, colourful murals, and a village-like atmosphere, the interior combines bold colour choices with an innovative and efficient use of space.
The layout was reworked to improve flow, comfort, and everyday functionality. Warm, red cabinetry and soft, oak parquet in the entryway and hallway set the tone, leading into a bright, open living area where sunny yellows, sky blues, and muted pinks bring a sense of energy and ease.
A built-in dining banquette curves gently along one wall, creating a relaxed gathering spot paired with graphic cabinetry and playful lighting. Each bedroom and bathroom has its own distinct identity, while repeated materials—such as textured paint finishes, oak flooring, and integrated joinery—bring everything together with consistency and warmth.
This project was Nathalie’s 2024 diploma submission for her Architectural Design Diploma at Studio des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
